Create happy memories for each student, and support each student as they discover and explore who they are in a safe, welcoming, encouraging environment.
To me, having a vision for my classroom is extremely important. I find that when I am beginning to get lost in the motions of every day life in and outside of the classroom I often need to be reminded what my WHY is. I want to create happy memories for my students because when I look back at the academic part of my education career, I don’t see a lot of happy memories. I believe that students are more likely to truly learn and learn more than just the intention of the lesson if they are enjoying themselves and creating memories. Furthermore, I want each student to feel comfortable in who they are and comfortable in who they are becoming. Every single person deserves a safe space to explore their individuality and sometimes school can feel the opposite for many kids. It is my vision that I create an environment where all my students are excited, expanding, and contributing to a safe community while learning.

As an educator, I will always look back on my WHY and although it may change, I will use it as a source of motivation to be the best teacher I can be.
